07: Claims and compensation
Claims based on discrimination must normally be lodged with employment tribunals within three months of the discriminatory treatment. Where a claim of discriminatory treatment is upheld, the courts/tribunals can award compensation to reflect the loss or hurt to the individual. There is no maximum compensation level in discrimination claims. Compensation can include not just compensation to financially compensate for a loss, but can also include substantial damages for injury to feelings.Last Updated
